Mod meets the fashion needs of many demographics in Portland, and its as easy to find as mini, sweater-clad puppies in Northwest. But for quality vintage, a walk down Hawthorne is all it takes to find a unique piece in any price range. Here are the four stores to hit up on Hawthorne that appease the full spectrum of vintage shoppers.
Hawthorne Vintage

This antique mall offers a wide selection for the seasoned,
discerning crowd and budget conscious alike. If you're looking for mint condition
name brands you may not make it past the front room. This is where to find
the prime mod picks that put the replicas in the Pearl District to shame. Don't
bypass the best buys in the store, the two Barcelona chairs and ottomans set
for $3,495 , or the Burke chair in excellent condition, also featured
on thegoodmod.com, with original upholstery
for $245. Penny pinchers should stroll through the back rooms to find Catherine
Holm bowls,vintage lamps and

buying something or wish they had. The mostly mod antique mall features vintage
pieces with color and flare for a few hundred and below. The 'as is' items
you may need to have cleaned but overall everything is in good condition.
Really Good Stuff

Strictly for those who crave the thrill
of the hunt. If you're willing to search through wall to wall, floor to ceiling
oddities, you'll find some excellent fixer uppers at low prices (even cheaper
if you bargain). I had a couch delivered to my apartment at no extra cost,
so if you don't have a car still check out the inventory.

Genuine vintage pieces in prime shape, reupholstered and
ready to take home. No dusting or primping required. A Heywood Wakefield

print is a recent addition priced at $595, and a pink round chair (below) for
