House for Vintage Furniture
Posted By LaurenHouse on Hawthorne is my favorite place to get vintage items. They have an extreme variety of items and they are usually quite affordable. Large furniture items such as couches and bed frames tend to be in the $200-$400 range. Smaller items such as tables, desks, dressers, and living room chairs tend to run in the $40-$100 range.
House is essentially a mall of vintage goods. There are over 45 vendors, such as Recycled Relics, and The Gray Gardens, who sell at House. Each vendor has their own little floor space in the building. Having a large number of vendors increases the variability of items because all vendors have their own taste. House has become the largest vintage mall on the West Coast since their new expansion just opened up this month. At 13,000 feet it can seem like a labyrinth. Everytime I turn a corner or pass a wall, there’s a whole new space to explore. On a wall of the new expansion is a noisy yellow sign with blinking red, blue, and green light blubs on the perimeter. It says “YOUR VINTAGE WONDERLAND.”

[…] I am pretty jealous, I really wish there had been a Capricorn needlepoint to go with it so we could have a his and hers! Oh well, I do have an awesome Enid Collins zodiac bag, so I should just count my blessings. Maybe one day I will stitch up a Capricorn piece to go with that amazing crab, I have such a thing for vintage zodiac stuff. (PS: there is also an Aries and a Pisces at the shop if you are interested, they’re in one of the middle vendor spaces in House, the big huge vintage store where Periodicals Paradise used to be.) […]
