Vault Martini

Posted By Lauren

I cannot rave enough about the style of Vault Martini.

When you enter, it is through a scalloped screen tunnel. A fire is burning in a white fireplace, complete with a mantel. Above the fireplace is a classy blue-themed painting of a woman in a billowing dress doing what seems like a cartwheel. Around the fireplace are red living room chairs with red velvet paisley. Then it becomes clear that the force of her motion is going the wrong way to be doing a cartwheel. Behind the bar is a wall covered in gray tiles and mirrors with large jars of infusions on shelves.

The most fabulous thing about Vault Martini is a long cushy deep brown velour couch to sink into, but not so much sinking that it is uncomfortable to eat. There are other couches in blue with white cord like wrapped birthday presents. The backs of the blue couches are attached upright to the wall. There are candles on the tables. Across from couches are wide, smart-looking tan chairs, for those unlucky enough to have to jealously sit across from someone on a couch.

In the corner of the room is an area that can be turned into a private room. The walls of the corner are blue couches with wall mirrors above them. The wall-couch and small round tables are set high, with stools for extra seating room. A dark curtain can wrap around to hide the VIP corner from the public.

For pictures and more info about what I’m talking about, look at the website. My friend and I were overwhelmed by how beautiful we thought the restaurant was. The drinks are lovely and astounding too.

The wall paper in the bathroom, however, looks like something out of Sartre’s No Exit.
